What Seat Belts Will Fit My Car? Check Before Ordering!
Our universal seat belts are designed to be generic in order to cover as many applications as possible. There is no list or reference that matches our aftermarket Seat Belts with your factory application. We can tell you how to measure and examine your existing seat belt to find the best replacement available based on length and buckle style.
This is an aftermarket/universal seat belt and is not meant to work with OEM factory components or sensors. Seat belts must be replaced as a complete unit. Do NOT mix and match our tongues/buckles with original equipment components, they will not match up correctly. Always check if our belts will be long enough to fit your application prior to ordering.
How to Measure for a 3 Point Retractable Lap & Shoulder Seat Belt
Our 3 Point Retractable lap & shoulder seat belts vary in lengths depending on buckle style so be sure to pre-measure if our seat belt will fit your application. The length you need will be determined by a number of factors including the location of mounting points, position of seat, style of seat, and intended user.
- To measure for a 3 Point Retractable Lap & Shoulder Seat Belt, first extend your current seat belt to a comfortable length and position. If your car currently does not have seat belts you can substitute a piece of rope where a seat belt would normally mount and use it as a reference for measurements.
- You will want to measure for 2 lengths: Length of (A) buckle side, and length of (B1 + B2 + B3) retractable lap & shoulder side.
- Check if our seat belt buckle/sleeve side will be long enough to be accessible at the sides of your seat. For example, if your current seat belt buckle sits 18 inches from the floor then seat belt with a 12 inch plastic sleeve will not be long enough for your application without an extender bracket.
- To get a measurement for retractable lap & shoulder side start at the bottom mounting bolt. Measure from (B1) floor mount to shoulder top mount, diagonally down (B2) across your chest to seat belt buckle, and (B3) back across your lap down to retractor mounting location. Make sure this combined length does not exceed the total length of our retractable seat belts.
- Check seat belt webbing will not rub against any interior components or seat frame.
Mounting a 3 Point Retractor Housing
Our retractable seat belts use inertia locking retractors. Whenever there is a sudden tug on the webbing, the inertia clutch inside the housing spins out and locks the webbing reel from releasing any more webbing. Inertia locking retractors allow the user to move freely while wearing the seatbelt until the retractor senses a sharp pull.
- Inertia locking retractors are aftermarket products and work independently of any brake systems and O.E. wiring sensors.
- This seat belt's retractor mechanism must be mounted vertically in order for inertia locking centrifuge to function properly. Retractor must mount either on floor (mount upright with an "L" Bracket) or can be mounted on door pillar if mount already exist.
- Do not mount retractor diagonally or horizontally. A tilting retractor will not function properly and can result in serious injury or death.
- Do not mount retractor on ceiling, body quarter panels, inside seats, attached behind seat, or feeding through seats.
